“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.” Deut 7:9
Yesterday, as I struggled with feeling overwhelmed by this process of heading to the mission field in Haiti, God showed His faithfulness to me as I opened my devotional to the “wrong page” (if I was to read the one with yesterdays date) but the “right page” for Him to speak to me! It reminded me that we are on the right path, to listen to Him, not my doubts. He is leading the way, revealing the path of Life that day, moment by moment. I am in awe of how God can settle my spirit when I choose to listen to Him. “Follow Me” are the words we have chosen to listen to with our friends and today we are celebrating the victory that comes from following Him.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105
Two years ago, we were sharing the same bowl of mushrooms as we started the first two adoptions at OLTCH,, not knowing if they were the poisonous kind or the kind that bring life. We aren’t eating out of the same bowl anymore but our steps of faith on the paths where God is leading us share the same willingness to say “Yes, Lord, wherever you are leading, we will follow, trusting that your plan is best.” It is an honor to call you our sister and brother in Christ! We deeply you both.
Here’s to all the new mushrooms we will eat as we follow our Savior!
We just had that “mushroom” conversation yesterday! I really do love a good mushroom!
Had it with Jazz and Greg last night too!
