Day 11: A week of “thanksgiving”!

photo

Today we’re celebrating our thankfulness for our son Josh, a passionate, committed young man.

He loves deeply and gives of himself and his resources generously.  We see so much of ourselves in him yet see how God has created him uniquely, with purpose.  His emotions are complex and intense; leading toward a strong sensitivity to injustice and hypocrisy that often stirs in him a need to fight for the underdog.   Unlike Quinn, Josh experienced our family life without Christ.  Like us he carries scars from those years but continues to experience God’s faithful healing hand on those wounds.   What a blessing to share with him the cherished memories of restoration that God brought to our family.  When we didn’t know how to love or to be loved, God used the only thing in life that mattered to each of us, our son Josh, to bring us to Him and heal our family.

Lord, we are thankful for the baby boy you gifted us with and the man he continues to become.  He brings so much joy into our lives.  We are grateful that now we are not only his parents but his friends as well.  We look forward with great expectation as to what you have ahead for each of us as we do this life with you.  We are blessed because our hearts belong to you and pray that each of our lives would reflect that!

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand”.   Psalm 16:11

Loved the pic and your devotion yesterday . I have a picture of my beloved Joe smiling at me on a hiking path with psalm 1611 quoted below it. I also took many pictures of him as I hiked behind him in many beautiful spots, from The Natchez Trace in Mississippi to Zion to Alask, to Glacier Natl Park. I have four of those together in a frame with psalm 23:3 quoted below. He leads me in paths of righteousness. I will keep all of your family in my prayers. Blessings and love, Kathryn Sent from my iPhone
