A season of inadequacy…
No one likes feeling inadequate, but we have to face reality…we are heading into a season of suffering from inadequacy. It’s hard as an adult to be unable to communicate, interact or express yourself, not to mention shop on your own, figure out the currency, or articulate God’s love to another person that doesn’t understand your language. Learning the hard way by offending the very people we have come to share our lives with as we seek to understand our new culture will be a life changing challenge.
Please pray that we will take our time, relying on God when we feel helpless, choosing not to compare ourselves against others. Pray that we wouldn’t feel obligated to produce something simply for the sake of saying we’ve done so, but that we would remain in Him trusting He will equip us to do His work in His timing.
“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17-19
