We often don’t think of “waiting” as a discipline, but it’s throughout Scripture. God thinks in terms of generations not years, He thinks in terms of eternity. We will never understand His ways and will struggle because we are obsessed with now…with where we are today. Peter clearly says, “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day”. 2 Pet. 3:8
The Psalmist David recognizes that God’s blessings often don’t come overnight, hence the need to wait. “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.” Psalm 130:5-6a
Pray with us as God uses this journey to develop in us the discipline of waiting. Pray we would wait patiently but expectantly for the future.
